Due to the current social distancing restrictions, we have decided to convert the Expect Miracles 5k to a virtual 5k. Even though COVID-19 is here, Batten Disease did not disappear. Batten Disease persists no matter what else is going on in the world. It affects Cecilia and Lilly every moment of every day.
A virtual race is a race that can be run or walked from any location you choose. You can run, jog, or walk on the road, on the trail, on a treadmill or track. You get to run your own race, at your own pace. The Expect Miracles 5k race day will still be on May 31, 2020, and we would love to see everyone out in their own neighborhoods completing their fun run. Please join us by registering for the 2020 Expect Miracles 5k virtual fun run. All race shirts, bibs, and swag will be mailed to you prior to the May 31st race day, so that you can wear your Expect Miracles shirt when you complete your run.
Proceeds from the Expect Miracles 5k will benefit the Beyond Batten Disease Foundation and the Rare Sisters Batten Foundation. The Rare Sisters Batten Foundation is donating a portion of the funds raised to the Fries Family to help offset costs associated with clinical trials and for a new van to accomodate the challenges that Batten Disease brings.
BE A TEAM
NEW for 2020! Run and fundraise as a team. Get your friends, neighbors, coworkers, or church group together to earn prizes for team fundraising and participation.

Your sponsorship helps to defray costs associated with the event, and 100% of the sponsorship proceeds goes directly towards medical research for CLN3 Batten Disease. Last year, the Expect Miracles 5k had over 1,000 participants. We expect to have just as many amazing participants this year and more! We hope that you will seriously consider participating and look forward to partnering with you and the community.
